Listen to Your Heart – Episode 2

Alright friends, it’s another manic Monday, so let’s all strap in and get ready to watch this week’s train-wreck of “Listen to Your Heart.”

So just to level-set, we’ve got 3 real steady couples:

1. Bri & Chris: the only thing I remember about the two of them is singing at a piano which on this show is about the equivalent of me saying that this is a girl who stole the Bachelor night one.
2. Danny & Becca – no clue
3. Jamie & Trevor – we all know she should’ve chose Ryan, but poor nice guys finish last and she went with Trevor instead.

Then the other guys who are so excited they got the rose and made it past the first rose ceremony are now going to cast aside the girls because new girls will be coming in this week and the guys have the power!

Are we all going to act like Harrison’s wardrobe being a little edgier for LTYH is totally normal?!? Harrison you should listen to your heart and be yourself and wear whatever clothes you want, not what you think you should wear to be in character.

Jamie gets the first date card and it’s Trevor and I think we’re all over her, she got a date with Ryan last week. We must need to get Jamie a date to get the drama going again I guess.

They’re preforming on the Venice Beach boardwalk, which is exactly where Trevor used to play when he was younger! Jamie is used to only singing originals and not really doing covers, but they magically decide they’re gonna sing Girl Crush by Little Big Town, and Jamie utters the magic words on the Bachelor “Everything is perfect and nothing could go wrong!”

And the house gets introduced to Natasha, an East Coaster who says what is on her mind and doesn’t care. She wants a grown ass man and is not a diva but is a diva. Any questions?!?

Natasha asks the group who’s missing and they say it’s Jamie and Trevor. She tries to play all coy and ask who this Trevor is and they say he’s from here and then she asks if he’s from American Idol, really that’s the gravy train we’re gonna keep riding? He didn’t even make it that far on Idol! Well she doesn’t know him from Idol, she knows him thru his ex and all that he did with that whole situation. Where Natasha spills all the tea and said that Trevor cheated on his ex and obviously that’s gonna destroy Jamie because she’s always been cheated on.

So Natasha is just here to stir the pot and I don’t think will give a crap about getting a rose or not.

Trevor and Jamie come back from their date and come in on Natasha and some of the gals talking by the fire. Jamie goes in for a hug, btw anyone else notice that Natasha and Jamie are basically wearing the same shirt, just different colors and the sleeves can either be pulled up on your shoulders, or you can have the bare shoulder look. Jamie goes in for the hug with Natasha, for some reason Trevor hugs the other girls around the fire, then he gets to Natasha, he introduces himself and she says she knows him and Jamie is on high alert and Trevor is trying to charm his way outta this.

Natasha and Trevor go into the house and Natasha goes straight for the jugular and says she knows his ex, he tries to play it like that’s really cool, then she airs all the dirty laundry and says she knows he cheated and he looks pissed for a second, but then puts on the charming mask again. Trevor said he never physically cheated, he just emotionally cheated, which Natasha points out that emotionally cheating may be worse.

Meanwhile, Rudi is spilling the tea to Jamie right away and the girls are saying that Natasha may or may not be lying, but also Trevor could be lying because it’s not like they know him all that well. Jamie tells the girls that she had the door wide open for Trevor to admit to cheating in the past and he didn’t admit to it, so now there are tears and she feels so betrayed, so who’s gonna be the one to tell Jamie she should’ve stuck with Ryan and she wouldn’t be in this situation?!?

Bri gets a date card so we get to know her and Chris a little bit better I guess. They’re in a guitar shop and people are wondering if they can get anymore emotionally connected to each other or not?!? Bri and Chris sing some duet, and she admits she was engaged a year ago, she went dress shopping with her mom and found the one, she texted her fiance and he told her to not buy it and that’s basically how he dumped her. We get an “I’m falling in love with you” from Bri to Chris and he returns that he is falling for her as well and then they make out.

Trevor tells Jamie he had texted another girl while he was dating his ex, so it was emotional cheating, but not physical and they both agree it doesn’t seem fair that their relationship should stop because of a decision he made 1.5 year ago, though that was his last chance to see if he was a cheater or not, since he hasn’t been in a relationship since then and well didn’t we all learn our lesson from Rachel Green’s mom?

Remember Julia, she’s the one who had Sheridan (our Jason Momoa lookalike) and Brandon (the Ken doll) and couldn’t decide between the two of them, she likes them both, but they are so different. Sheridan gets the date card, so he takes Julia. They are on a radio show for their date.

Rudi who went after Matt during the rose ceremony last week, has now realized that he has all the power this week and she has made zero connections with any of the guys this week, so she pulls him aside to grovel at his feet.

I have now officially realized I would go INSANE if I were quarantined in this house. I could not handle people just lounging about and jamming and singing to each other. It’s too cheesy and fake dramatic for me. I need regular Bachelor drama and fights, all this singing is just getting to me! I need it to be more like High School Musical if there’s going to be singing, I need dancing to go along with it!

We’ve got 2 new girls that are joining us! Mariana who’s 23 and from Dallas and she’s ready to make connections with anyone and everyone. Then there’s Ruby, who’s a combo of Rudi and Mel because she has pink hair.

Brandon, our Ken Doll is the hot commodity! Mariana, Ruby, Savannah and Mel all are feeling him as well as Julia who should stick with Sheridan but we know she won’t because these poor nice guys aren’t standing a chance on this show.

Savannah gets the date card and she is taking Brandon and Mel has a nervous breakdown and starts bawling. She is gonna end up alone.

Brandon and Savannah are at a club for a date and Savannah tells Brandon that she’s feeling him and is over meeting and spending time with other people and he said he’s over it too and ready to be with her. BTW, Julia comes back from her date and finds out that Brandon isn’t there because he’s on a date, and it’s obvious that Jules is feeling Brandon while Sheridan is feeling Jules.

The next day Jules comes up to Sheridan who is writing a song about how much he loves Jules. Jules tells Sheridan that she doesn’t wanna go steady with him, she wants to be able to talk to Brandon, but she does like Sheridan and wants to keep him on the side because she needs a rose for tonight, so she can’t completely blow Sheridan off until next week when she’s safe and in control with the roses.

Rose ceremony night! We got 2 couples, but got 6 other guys who have to figure out where their roses go and 3 ladies will be going home tonight! Let’s enjoy the cocktail party!

Poor poor Mel, I like her. I like her because she’s so much cooler than me, but gosh dang, you put her in-front of Brandon and she becomes so awkward and adorable. I want her to have confidence and show him that she’s as badass as she appears, but she just can’t get past that hurdle, she did make out with him and she feels proud of herself for doing so. Actually, I want her to forget Brandon and go after Ryan, as I think he may be more her speed.

Jules and Brandon are talking and they both talk about how they had the chemistry at the beginning. But Brandon thought when she went with Sheridan, they were done and there was no chance. Now that he knows there’s a chance what is he supposed to do?!?

Jules badmouths Savannah, Brandon says he genuinely cares for Savannah and Jules begrudgingly says she cares for Sheridan, and the sentence is barely out her mouth and she throws herself at Brandon and makes out with him.

Natasha grabs Ryan and Ryan is smart and calls her out by saying there’s no way she’d normally go for him in real life and she tries to say that’s a lie. We all know it’s the truth and you see him as weak and an easy rose and won’t think twice when you drop him next week when you are in charge of the roses. See thru this Ryan and don’t let her get away with it, but then they make out and we’ve lost Ryan to the dark side yet again.

Well then Rudi comes in and realizes her rose chances are down to Matt the guy she freaked out on last week, or Ryan. So she’s gonna hang out with Ryan and she just makes out with him on the same exact couch he’d just made out with Natasha on. Rudi starts bawling to Jamie because she didn’t feel any spark with that makeout sesh with Ryan. Then she goes and attack Matt and they start making out on the couch, so they both are attracted to crazy evidently.

Rose ceremony time!

1. Chris gives his rose to Bri (if these two aren’t engaged in 4 weeks, will this show count as a success, and can they make me care in 4 weeks that they’re engaged?!?)
2. Trevor gives his rose to Jamie (this is gonna crash and burn at some point, hopefully next week)
3. Matt gives his rose to Rudi (they both like crazy and won’t make it thru this whole journey)
4. Ryan gives his rose to Natasha (she will bring drama, and poor guy doesn’t stand a chance with her being the one in the end, but what do I know, producers know more!)
5. Danny gives his rose to Bekah and do these two talk to each other or are they just constantly in the middle of  group conversations?
6. Brandon – you knew he couldn’t be the last person because whoever he does or doesn’t choose will impact the other guys decision….but a lot is hanging on who he will choose and it is Savannah, sorry Jules, sorry Mel!
7. Gabe who read a date card and that’s about all I know about him chooses Ruby! He chooses the wrong pink haired girl! He did not take one for the team and house and choose Mel like everyone was hoping, but hey good for you Gabe, even if you chose Mel she wouldn’t have been in it for you.
8. Sheridan gives his rose to Jules which is sad for him because he’s obviously second choice to her, but I get it.

Going home is Mariana, Mel and Cheyenne….Mel will be the only one we miss and Sheridan is letting Brandon have his cake and eat it too because you could see Brandon was worried Jules was going home and that he may have made a bad decision keeping Savannah, but he doesn’t need to worry about that now. He hugs Jules at the end and whispers to her that he’s glad she’s still here and that they can keep working things out, of course he’s gonna say that because he’s a smart man who realizes the ladies are back in a position of power next week!

So next week looks like we’re all gonna have to be subjected to the talent show of them all signing and preforming, which is going to be painful! But we get more drama with our love square and it looks like both Jules and Savannah are crying and threatening to leave and talking to producers, so that will be how we power thru the episode. We are officially a third of the way done with this series, we can do it people! Plus we’re stuck at home and nothing else is on!

The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart – Episode 1

Okay guys, I know I said I wasn’t going to blog about what I’m sure will be a train-wreck of a show “Bachelor – ‘Listen to your Heart.'” But well, that was more than a month ago when we lived in a simpler time. We were just angry about Barb beating up on Madi and cheering against her son in the audience. Of course Pete & Madi lasted not even 48 hours later.

Pete is now in quarantine with lawyer Kelley, the same Kelley who made it to what 5th or 6th place and wasn’t even invited to the Women Tell All. The same girl who said she just wanted to have fun. The same girl who had a front row view of the way Barb treated Madi at the After the Final Rose. I would’ve ran the opposite way, but I am not Kelley, though I have to admit, seeing her and Pete’s Instagram stories, makes me like her less than I did.

Speaking of people who were quarantined together, we had Hannah Brown down in Florida with Tyler C, his brother and a group of his friends. She was down there for about a week or so, but has since gone back to Alabama. Are they a couple or Friends with Benefits is another’s guess, but I’m gonna say it’s a FWB type of situation.

We also know that Clare’s season of the Bachelorette is currently on hold and not being filmed because of Coronavirus. Bachelor Summer Games has been cancelled and I’m assuming we can say goodbye to Bachelor in Paradise since that normally films in June and we won’t have any of Clare’s guys to pick from. So that my friends is how you get me at least blogging about the first of this 6 episode debacle.

We’re going to have 20 singles coming to the mansion and they are all hoping to fall in love and find someone who shares in their passion for music! They supposedly searched and found around the country the most talented musicians  that are ready for love, not saying that they are attractive or a lightning rod for drama, that is all just a happy coincidence! These 20 people are obviously gonna be on all of our Spotify playlists here before we know it!

Also, I feel like all this mention of “A Star is Born” and how people are wanting a love story like that is giving me the same feelings as when people say they want to be “Just like Romeo and Juliet!” Is that really the romantic ending you’re wanting?!?

Alright let’s meet these people!

1. Brandon – 34, I’m already excited we have someone who is 10 years older than our normal Bachelor contestants! He was in the Marine Corps and was deployed and wrote music while being deployed. He’s wearing the skinny jeggings and has the Tyler C hair working.
2. Bri – 28. She loves her nieces and nephews and has been with them every day and they shape who she is. She was engaged 1.5 years ago, but he got scared. She’s ready to meet her future husband, who better play the guitar.
3. Sheridan – 27 he keeps Austin weird. He has been traveling around living in his car as a musician. He’s a cheap Jason Momoa imitator.
4. Bekah – 25 and is from Washington DC. She doesn’t exist without musical theatre and she is more dramatic than I’m gonna be able to handle. Her intro immediately makes me think of Sharpay Evans because she warms up doing this exact routine:
5. Gabe – 28 Houston TX. He’s a huge sports guy, but also loves music and is a huge Christian and that’s the foundation of his life.
6. Savannah – 25 and lives in Nashville. She’s big into Yoga, free spirit and wild child. Her past relationships have been rocky, so she’s gonna be making out with multiple guys this season.
7. Trevor – 29 – he is sitting on a couch, shirtless with a dog licking him as he’s attempting to write lyrics. He’s from Thousand Oaks, which is LA. We’ve seen him all over the previews, so he’s THE GUY I think. I am not seeing myself root for this guy, I have a feeling I’ll be rooting against him, but we shall see! He looks like Jed. He was on Idol a couple years ago, but we just saw his audition, so must’ve not made it too far
8. Jamie – 21. Looking for a husband has been dismal….you know probably because YOU ARE 21!!! She’s been on hundreds of dates but every guy she’s dated has cheated on her. Did they show me that 34 year old just to get my hopes up, because I am not gonna be able to handle this baby, who has way way too much blush on.

Wow, we’re at a mansion but it is MUCH bigger than our normal Bachelor Mansion. I wanna know why we changed mansions?!? When they did Bachelor Pad they were able to use the normal Bachelor mansion, why wasn’t it good enough for this show?!?

Jamie is the first one out of the limo and then this guy named Ryan joins her. Evidently not everyone gets a video package introducing themselves, because we haven’t met Ryan yet. I know they don’t on the Bachelor, but it seems odd on this show since we know no one. How am I going to root for any of you or care if you’re falling in love, if I don’t know you’re into Yoga or can sit shirtless with your dog?!?

We now have a Matt who is a singer/songwriter type that doesn’t know Harrison’s last name, which again I don’t really buy, but if they’re trying to play it like he’s the too cool for school guy, that’s fine.

Jamie is saying she doesn’t want a girl to come who just wants to start drama….enter Savannah our Yogi who is wearing leather pants and a sparkly tube top!

We’ve got Mel who is 27 and has purple hair.

Rudi is 24 in a hot pink dress and is PUMPED to meet Harrison! She is 24 and is old, which Harrison also admits (albeit sarcastically) and she is ready to be married!

Jamie who had been clinging to Ryan, drops him after he tells his story about having brain surgery when he was 6 which gave him a new lease on life, for our shirtless guy Trevor. Rudi is our commentator, who can’t believe people are already pairing up on night one, has Rudi ever gone out to bars and sees this what happens all across America?!?

This guy named Michael comes in and he’s the one who is trying too hard and is not genuine and is putting on a character to get his 15 mins of fame and I’m over him after 15 seconds on my screen.

Russell is here and he is trying to be Harry Styles with his hairstyle.

Julia walks in and she reminds me of Crystal, from Crystal and the Goose.

We’re all in the house and Harrison comes into the living room. Love is the center of everything we do in the Bachelor. We’re gonna do dates and date cards. We have roses! There are 12 guys and 8 girls, so 4 guys will be going home this week! We have the girls talking about who they all liked on first impressions and the guys are talking about who they like.

Julia is the hot commodity for the girls, all the guys like her. She is the one who looked like Crystal, the blonde beautiful one. She runs her own non-profit for musical therapy for Children’s hospitals. She was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis before she was born and was in and out of the hospital growing up, so it’s a cause very close to her heart.

The first kiss of the season is Julia and Brandon, they are definitely the Ken & Barbie of the house! They look like they belong together, which makes me think that they don’t actually belong. I’m rooting for you, Sheridan who actually had a conversation with Julia instead of just flirting with her.

We have the first hot tub action of the night with Rudi and Matt. Matt said he’s known Rudi for 2 whole hours so obviously he should attack her with kisses. I don’t trust this guy, he’s using her for the rose and then he’s gonna drop her like a hot potato next week, he’s just seeing how the roses are gonna go and is going with the sure thing to get the rose and poor Rudi is too young and naive to see this.

We’ve got a love triangle with Jamie, Ryan & Trevor. Jamie kissed Ryan. But then she went in the hot tub with Trevor and made out with him. While Julia was crushing on Ryan by the piano and Ryan has no clue what is going on with Jamie in the hot tub, but you know Jamie didn’t want any drama.

Okay so our date is Ryan and Jamie at a recording studio singing “Gravity” by John Mayer. I did love and play the crap outta my John Mayer CD “Heavier Things” at the end of high school and beginning of college. I didn’t realize John Mayer was still a thing, I thought Taylor Swift basically buried him when he broke her heart, but at least on this show they want us to remember him. No way 21 year old Jamie knows who he is though, but good try ABC.

Our main love connection in the house is evidently Bri and Chris. He has been serenading her a few times and they do seem to be pretty low key and hopefully stay away from the drama.

Matt decides to go on a date with Mel, the purple haired girl instead of Rudi. Rudi is pissed and telling all the girls that Matt is playing games and went back on his word to take her on a date. Rudi is crying and singing about her heartbreak at the mansion while Matt & Mel go on a date that is basically a backyard BBQ and the Plain White T’s are playing songs.

So yeah ABC is bringing on artists from my high school and college days. Again, don’t necessarily hate it, but these are very random artists.

This tweet made me literally laugh out loud, so yes I did retweet it. I don’t often tweet about the Bachelor, but this seemed like a great time to start, because us as viewers think this exact thing every time Harrison shows up on our screens:

I do gotta say, I didn’t think I’d like Sheridan, the Jason Momoa lookalike, but gosh dang he somehow is an underdog and I am rooting for him. He shouldn’t be an underdog, but he seems genuine and real and doesn’t realize how great of a catch he is, so that insecurity makes me cheer for him and want him to succeed. I want him to know he’s a catch….there’s a thin thin line between being a douche who is too confident and an underdog who has no confidence. I want Sheridan to get just a tad more confidence, but not too much where he goes over to douchey territory.

Poor Sheridan is all about Julia and good for him, he’s been about Julia since day 1 and even with 8 roses and 12 guys, he is telling all the girls he wants Julia’s rose. He isn’t playing the field and playing games. He is staying true to the course and I think that makes the other girls respect and cheer for him more. But poor fella, his girl Julia has made out with Brandon and he walks up on her making out with Josh who is a younger more attractive Mr. Clean as someone in the house accurately described him.

Matt is the douche who didn’t know Harrison’s name supposedly and is the opposite of Sheridan. He’s playing both Mel and Rudi and he’s trying to play the odds of getting a rose from either one of them. He’s a “circle back” guy who is now “circling back” to Rudi since they connected the first night. Rudi is not having any of that and is pissed at him. He is shocked when she accurately calls him out on what he said and the words he used. He is a deer in headlights and is trying to backtrack and save the situation and it is not working and I want him to go down!

Ryan and Jamie have one last cuddle where he says yesterday was dope, she agreed and told him he has a perfect face and cuddled right into him. Trevor comes and steals Jamie and says “this isn’t a last ditch effort to get a rose” and we all know that’s a lie! He said he just wants to hang with her because he likes spending time with her and doesn’t want anything in return.

He plays her a song on the guitar and then makes out with her and she is now crying because she’s confused and we all know she should choose Ryan because Trevor is playing her like a fiddle!

Rose ceremony time and Harrison’s last piece of advice “Listen to your heart”!

1. Savannah (yoga girl) gives her rose to Brandon (the Ken to Julia’s Barbie)
2. Mel (purple hair) gives her rose to Gabe (I have no clue who Gabe is and pretty sure he didn’t say a word this episode). Everyone expected her rose to go to Matt!
3. Bekah (no idea) gave her rose to Danny (no idea)
4. Bri gave her rose to Chris – I just know they’ve been vibing but don’t know anything else about them
5. Cheyenne (no clue) gives her rose to Matt (the douche who screwed Rudi…..GRRR!!!) that had to be producer driven because no way she actually wanted to choose him
6. Julia (the hot commodity girl) gives her rose to Sheridan (Our underdog got it over Mr. Clean!!!)
7. Jamie gives her rose to Trevor — what a stupid stupid decision, she should’ve chose Matt, but she’ll learn someday!
8. Rudi gets to hand out the final rose and she is giving her rose to Ryan!

Rudi is the hero for keeping Ryan! Thank you Rudi for keeping him! Cheyenne should’ve kept Mr. Clean instead of Matt, but that’s my only complaint.

Alright guys, we made it through episode 1. Do I love the show, no I’m not gonna lie, I don’t love it. Will I keep watching and blogging, yes as long as we’re in quarantine I may as well, especially since who knows the next Bachelor related show we’ll be able to watch. So the snark will keep coming your way!!
